The CMDB Difference

The Interdepartmental Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology Graduate Program offers both Doctoral and Masters of Science degrees with a heavy dose of research in basic, applied, agricultural, and biomedical sciences.
- Be it bioethics, proteomics or plant cell pathology, the partnerships between faculty and students at CMDB keep them at the forefront of their fields.
- CMDB at UCR boasts over 70 participating faculty members from across 16 departments.
- The UCR campus is home to a number of recently constructed state-of-the-art research facilities making for an excellent research environment. The Facilities include:
- Light and electron microscopy centers
- A genomics institute (with facilities of nucleotide and peptide synthesis, DNA sequencing and cell transformation)
- Complementing the research, CMDB students have access to a wide range of graduate courses in cell, molecular and developmental biology that can be combined to meet the needs and interests of each individual.
- Program participants such as the renowned Dr. Anthony Norman assist both current and future students with their efforts in both the classroom and the laboratory.
